April 15 at 4 pm by Digna Sinke in CBK Dordrecht.
The series A Falling Horizon is about the Sophiapolder, an island where Hannie and her children had a sheep farm for years. Every morning they would row across the river to take care of the animals. But now they are forced to leave their home. The dike will be breached to create a new nature: a freshwater tidal marsh. Heidi de Gier closely followed the family and the nature on the island for a year. A satellite exhibition will be in the mobile exhibition space MOBEX, next to the island. During the opening we will sail from the CBK to the MOBEX, and there will be a picnic and live music.
Photos of the opening can be seen here.
The book is designed by Hans Gremmen and the text is written by Tracy Metz. Order the book at Fw:
